Some tournaments stay in your memory long after you sign the card, and the one at Club de Golf Nestares was one of them. Codex Golf had the honour of sponsoring it, of watching the players compete with real appetite and of handing out prizes worthy of the day. This is the report of a day of golf in Cantabria that ended with smiles, handshakes and new bags over shoulders.<\/p>\n\n

The course at Club de Golf Nestares set the stage<\/h2>\n\n

Blue sky, high sun and green fairways with the mountains behind. Club de Golf Nestares welcomed the players with that mix of competition and good humour you only get at club tournaments, the ones where you play for pride against the people you share a locker room with the rest of the year.<\/p>\n\n

Next to the fairway they set up the prize table, the club’s cloths on show and the gear waiting for its owners. Around it, the row of banners marking out the route and the meeting point everybody ended up passing through at some moment of the day.<\/p>\n\n

Codex Golf was there from start to finish<\/h2>\n\n

Sponsoring a tournament is not about putting up a banner and leaving. At Club de Golf Nestares we were there with our el adn del golf<\/em> banners, with the prize table set up and, above all, with our hands in the prize-giving, greeting the players one by one as they came in off the course.<\/p>\n\n

Among the prizes there was one with a name of its own: a voucher for a Codex Golf fitting, valid until 31 December 2026. A prize that is not used up in one afternoon, but that keeps working for the player once he gets home and starts thinking about his clubs.<\/p>\n\n

The prize-giving brought everyone together on the grass<\/h2>\n\n

The prize-giving at Club de Golf Nestares was the moment of the day. Club bags, boxes of gear, caps, and that group photo that gets repeated at every club but never comes out the same twice. There were hugs, handshakes and more than one joke about the shots of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n

The good thing about a prize-giving like this is that it does not sort people by handicap. The result is rewarded, yes, but the whole day is celebrated: the ones who signed a great round and the ones who left a ball or two along the way and still went home feeling it had been a perfect day.<\/p>\n\n

The local brands backed the day<\/h2>\n\n

A club tournament stands on a lot of people who never appear in the winners’ photo. At Nestares, the row of banners told that story without needing any speeches: Vallucas, Animalario, Albergue Corconte, Fdez Prieto Abogados and CISE were alongside the club together with Codex Golf.<\/p>\n\n
